Refund and Returns Policy
Effective Date: 23.11.2024
At MoveCompany.co.za, our goal is to provide a transparent and reliable platform for connecting shippers and transport businesses. This Refund and Returns Policy outlines the responsibilities of shippers and businesses when engaging through the Mover Africa platform.
1. How Jobs Are Posted and Payments Are Handled
-
Job Posting Options: Shippers (users) can post jobs on the platform in three ways:
- Hourly Pricing
- Fixed Pricing
- Job Bidding
-
Payment Process:
Once a job is completed, the shipper confirms by pressing the “Job Completed” button. This action releases the payment to the business/driver’s account. All payments are processed securely online through a bank using trusted payment gateways.
2. Insurance and Verification Responsibilities
-
Shipper’s Responsibility: We strongly advise shippers to verify that the selected moving or transport company has up-to-date insurance coverage. It is essential to confirm what type of insurance applies to:
- Goods in transit.
- Loading and unloading items into and out of vehicles.
-
Mover Africa’s Role in Verification: The Mover Africa platform ensures that all registered businesses have the necessary legal documentation to become verified members. However, shippers must perform their due diligence regarding insurance coverage and service terms.
3. Mover Africa’s Role as a Third Party
Mover Africa acts solely as a third-party facilitator connecting shippers and transport businesses or drivers. We do not interfere in the agreements or terms established between these parties. The shipper decides the payment method and completes payment once satisfied with the service.
4. What Happens If an Item is Damaged?
If a moving company damages an item or furniture during the move, the following process should be followed:
-
Packing Responsibility:
All shippers are responsible for ensuring that their furniture and items are packed safely and securely for moving and transportation. Damage resulting from improper or inadequate packing may not be covered by the moving company’s insurance. -
Proof of Condition:
The shipper must provide evidence that the item was not damaged prior to the move on the same date. Documentation such as photos, videos, or witness statements can support this claim. -
Resolution Steps:
- Shippers should contact the moving company directly to resolve the issue.
- Ensure all communication is documented for record-keeping.
-
In Severe Cases:
If a business violates South African laws or commits a crime, Mover Africa reserves the right to expel the business from the platform. However, legal disputes should be handled through appropriate governmental institutions for the best resolution.
5. No Refunds or Returns from Mover Africa
Since Mover Africa does not provide moving services directly, we do not issue refunds or returns. Payment disputes must be resolved between the shipper and the transport business.
6. Expulsion of Non-Compliant Businesses
Mover Africa is committed to maintaining the integrity of the platform. If a business violates its obligations or engages in unlawful activities, they may be permanently removed from the Mover Africa marketplace.
Final Note
By using MoveCompany.co.za and the Mover Africa platform, shippers and businesses acknowledge their roles and responsibilities. We recommend all users familiarize themselves with their rights, verify service providers, and adhere to South African laws for a safe and seamless experience.
