FAQ

MoveCompany.co.za is an online platform connecting shippers with verified moving and transport service providers across South Africa. Whether you’re moving a home, office, or goods, you can post a job and receive quotes from professional movers or transport companies.

To post a job:

  1. Register an account on the website.
  2. Provide details about your moving requirements, including pickup and drop-off locations, the size of the load, and your preferred date.
  3. Choose from pricing options such as hourly rates, fixed pricing, or bid posting.
  4. Submit your job and wait for transport providers to respond with their availability and pricing.

If you post your job as a bid, moving companies or drivers will review your request and submit their offers. You can evaluate these offers based on price, reviews, and ratings. Once you select a provider, they will coordinate with you to complete the move.

All payments are processed securely online through trusted banking gateways. After the service is completed, the shipper confirms by pressing the “Job Completed” button, releasing the payment to the service provider’s account. Mover Africa uses Stripe as its payment gateway, ensuring security and reliability.

Mover Africa verifies all businesses on the platform to ensure they meet South African legal requirements. However, we strongly advise shippers to confirm directly with the moving company what type of insurance they have, including goods in transit and liability coverage for loading/unloading.

In the event of damage:

  1. Ensure you have proof, such as photos or videos, showing the item’s condition before the move.
  2. Contact the moving company immediately to resolve the issue.
  3. If the company’s insurance policy applies, follow their claims process.
  4. For severe violations, report the incident to local authorities, and Mover Africa can expel the offending business from the platform.

Yes, you can cancel a job, but it’s important to notify the service provider as soon as possible. Depending on the provider’s cancellation policy, you may incur fees if the cancellation happens too close to the scheduled move date.

Yes, shippers are responsible for packing their items securely before the movers arrive. This helps prevent damage during transit. If you require packing assistance, some moving companies offer this service at an additional cost.

If a moving company fails to show up:

  1. Contact the provider directly to understand the issue.
  2. If unresolved, report the matter to Mover Africa support at support@moverafrica.com.
  3. You may post a new job or select an alternative provider from the platform.

Mover Africa acts as a third-party platform and does not directly interfere in disputes. Shippers and businesses are encouraged to resolve issues independently. However, Mover Africa may expel businesses that violate legal standards or the platform’s terms of service. For severe disputes, shippers should seek assistance from governmental institutions.
